Screen material

All lampshades for all ZLAMP models are sewn in our studio in Anderslöv. A customer with a broken ZLAMP lampshade does not have to throw away an entire lamp, but can contact us and order a new shade.

We have several different options for the material for our lampshades. The most popular and special to us is mulberry paper, which provides a pleasant light that does not dazzle.

Mulberry paper

Mulberry paper comes in several different shades, with white being the most common. The paper is made by hand from fibers from mulberry trees and every sheet of paper is different. Spots and stains occur as parts of the outer bark can be removed during manufacturing and the thickness of the paper can also vary. Each sheet is then unique and contributes to our unique light and its charm.

Textile

We offer two different shades of durable textile shades in white or off-white. The textiles, which are manufactured in Sweden by Almedahls AB, do not contain flame retardants or harmful pigments.

See our two shades below.

Opal plastic

For those of you who have extra high hygiene or wear requirements, we offer a white-colored alternative made of plastic not coated with paper or textile – opal plastic. This harder and slightly glossy plastic is easy to wipe clean and can be sprayed.

Steel

Our sheet metal screens are made of robust Swedish steel, are very durable and glare-free.

Leather

The leather we use is LWG certified and vegetable tanned, which means it is chrome-free leather where plants have been used in the production process without environmentally harmful chemicals. This results in a beautiful, high-quality material that ages with dignity and, with a little care, lasts a lifetime. The leather is produced in Tuscany and comes from French and Swiss food-grade cows that comply with EU animal welfare legislation.
We manufacture the shades ourselves in our studio and are available in the colors natural, cognac & dark brown.

Brass, raw patinated

We patina the brass shades by hand in our studio, making each shade unique. Brass gives a cozy and lively feeling to an environment.
